It is no longer news that former minister of state for Works, Chris Ogiemwonyin, was dropped from the ministerial list. What looks like news is how he was replayed by his third wife Stella Oduah-Ogie​mwonyin boss of SPG which has its head office in Lekki, Lagos. As you all may have noticed, Mrs. Stella Oduah-Ogiemwonyin is now the new Minister of Aviation. The funny twist is that how come her husband who is supposed to be more connected than his wife was a mere Minister of State for Works during his tenure and his wife not just his wife but his third, became a Minister. While only God knows what went into play there, as we know nothing is impossible in Nigerian politricks. KSA’s Son SAJ Signs New Act Dazzle

Sunday Adegeye Junior (SAJ), the son of music icon, King Sunny Ade, has joined the league of record label owners, having floated a company called Take Over Records, as a subsidiary of S.A.J Entertainment Agency.
The Sociology graduate of the University of Lagos said the aim of Take Over Records is to assist talented musicians by taking them to a higher level via building alliance between them and local and international promoters.To this end, the label recently signed on a pop music artiste, Ayodeji Olukayode Elumalero a.k.a. Q.Let us agree that it is a pre-trial, but do you see this fracas coming to revelation soonest?

A.Well, we call it pre-trial and it’s rather unfortunate that all leaders and elders in the association are greedy, the rift is what we should have been able to settle even without going to court, but it is rather unfortunate that we have some useless elders and I can mention their names, quote me right; elders like Lere Paimo and Jimoh Aliu, they are the most useless elders that I have ever seen in my life, they are trouble makers in the association, they are the big fish that are ruining the water even right from the time of late Hubert Ogunde; they are the dangerous people we have in the union, but we are waiting. The court will make the decision.

Actor Enebeli Elebuwa Turns Preacher

Fast graying veteran actor Enebeli Elebuwa has being reported to have started some sort of Christian evangelism on location these days. Words reaching us has it that the Delta State born actor who has paid his dues in Nollywood and has been in the game for a very long time, now preaches to his fellow actors anytime they are on set recording a flick.

Nollywood Star Olu Jacobs Wins Life Achievement Award In Cameroun

The accomplished Nigerian actor and Nollywood star Olu Jacobs was given a standing ovation at the closing ceremony of the 15th Écrans Noirs Film Festival, Saturday night of June 25, 2011 in Yaoundé, Cameroun. He was greeted with applause by the ecstatic audience as he mounted the stage to receive the Prix Charles Mensah (Ecran d’Honneur) for his outstanding life achievement as an actor of local and international success, especially for the great impact of Nollywood in Africa.

“African cinema and its actors” the theme of 15th edition of the Écrans noirs was a noble tribute to those who work in the continent to advance the seventh art according to the administrator Bassek Ba Kobhio. It attracted thousands of people from June 18-25, 2011.

Present at the closing ceremony were Nigerian filmmaker Chike Ibekwe who was a co-winner of the best film prize at the 14th Écrans Noirs and one of the appointed presidents of the jury in 2011 and Mr. Madu Chikwendu, Regional Secretary of the Pan-African Federation of Filmmakers (FEPACI), co-founder and member of the Board of Trustees of Association of Nollywood Core Producers (ANCOP), and the sole Nigerian representative in the International Federation of Film Producers (FIAPF)

Wao! Incase you don’t know, he as been around for a while with his song “Aye Mi Tida” ellipsis of ‘My Life is Good’ is doing well on the airwave. In this report, he was sighted on one event, ‘Couple’s Day Out’ organize by Segun Oseni, the producer of the popular TV drama series ‘The Couple’ at Ikeja, Lagos Country Club, we were told when on the red carpet that his one the performing art at the event.

These made us to rush to him after the event when this report discovered that he did not performed, heed what he told us when asked:

“Well, let me us these medium to say a very big sorry to all my fans who as been expecting my performance tonight, it wasn’t my fort, it was due to late commencement of the event as it was programmed to started by 2pm to 7pm but the event did not started until half hour of 4pm, am not the only artiste who did not performed there are also other as you known. Although some people thought I should be queuing to perform as upcoming artist. No, I said. It is that artiste who doesn’t know his right does that. Imagine yourself in my shoes, if it were that I was paid for the show, will there be need for me to queue? You too can think about that, so my not performing is not a challenge at all in as much I have fans and people who I think cannot support my music , comments positive on it so I strongly believe that am on the right round.”
